June Mesneak, 89, passed away Wednesday, March 7, 2018.
Funeral services will be held 2:30 pm on Monday, March 12, 2018 in the Minton Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow in Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger. In lieu of flowers her memory may be honored with a gift to the Alzheimer's Association of the Panhandle, 5410 Bell Street #411, Amarillo, TX 79101 or to a favorite charity.
June was born September 23, 1928 in Dewey, Oklahoma to Homer Hines and Christina Walker Hines. She married Lawrence “Pot” Mesneak on March 7, 1947 in Sedan, Kansas. June worked for 27 years for Sids Jewelry in Borger. She was a member of Gateway Baptist Church. A Sunday School teacher for most of her life, she was instrumental in leading numerous people to the Lord. June was a gifted musician who not only played the piano by ear, she could also sing. In fact she sang with a gospel quartet that recorded a cassette. One of the most loving and caring individuals you could ever meet. She had a heart for babies and babies adored her. Within moments of seeing a baby she would have them in her arms. She loved to bestow blessings to people. She will be missed for her sugar cookies, coconut cream and chocolate pies. June loved to give them away to people. In fact when she cooked for church meals, people would get dessert first before their meal because they knew there would not be any left.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; sons, Rodney Mesneak, James Mesneak and his wife Donna; brother, Warren Hines; and sisters, Jean Stout, Althea Fields and Nadine Eutsler.
Survivors include grandsons, Alan Mesneak of Fritch, Aaron Mesneak and Alicia Bonner of Fritch; granddaughter, Cindy Fullbright and husband Steven of Frisco; six great grandchildren, Lauren Dixon and husband Andrew, Zach Mesneak, Truman Fullbright, Grace Fullbright, Isabella Fullbright, Carson Mesneak; one great great-grandson, Grant David Dixon; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of extended family.
