Aaron Dee Henry, 87, died Monday, May 11, 2009 in Mesquite, Texas.
Services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 16, 2009 at the First Baptist Church in Panhandle with Rev. Joe Zimmerman officiating and Rev. Carrie Skinner of Trinity Baptist Church in Amarillo assisting. Interment will follow at Panhandle cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-6 pm. on Friday at the funeral home.
Dee was born July 25, 1921 in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas to W.E. and Lexie Henry. On October 27, 1945 he married Eunice Vick in Memphis, Texas. They lived in Panhandle for 49 years, and spent the last four years in Amarillo and Mesquite. Dee was a member of Trinity Baptist church in Amarillo, and former member of First Baptist church in Panhandle. Dee retired from Dees Conoco in 1982 and was on the Panhandle city council for six years. Loved his family, being outdoors, gardening, fishing, playing dominos, reading the Bible, and making calls to the sick. He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather.
Survivors include his wife Eunice of the home, 1 son Billy Henry of Phoenix, AZ., 1 daughter Nedra Manahan and husband Mike of Mesquite, 1 brother Glendon Henry of East Wenatchee, WA., 2 sisters Ivene Smith of Clinton, OK., Devene Isaacs of East Wenatchee, WA., special friend Trip Batten of Phoenix, AZ. 2 grandchildren Keri Jones and husband Jesse, Kim Rion and husband Chris, 9 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Aaron is preceded in death by his parents, 1 sister Irma Blackwell, 6 brothers Tollie, Loman, Aubrey, Ed, Eugene, and Gerald.
