Specialist E4 Adam Webb Scheffler, 22, died Sunday, March 6, 2011 in a car crash in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Funeral service will be 3:00 p.m. Saturday at Cornerstone Church in Borger with Pastor Shian Klassen, officiating and Pastor Ricky Pfeil of Kingdom Keys Church in Amarillo assisting. Military graveside rites will follow at Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of MintonChatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.
Adam was born on August 16, 1988 Elk City, Oklahoma and had been a Borger resident for 12 years. He was a Specialist E4 in the U.S. Army and served in the Iraq War. He received the Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Iraqi Campaign Medal Global, War on Terrorism medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, and Combat Infantry Badge.
Adam leaves behind his Cornerstone Church Family and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Webb Emma Riley and Pat Scheffler.
Adam is survived by his father Bruno V. Scheffler of Houston, mother Jackie Scheffler of Borger, three brothers Micah Scheffler and Dan Langdon both of Borger and Stephen Scheffler sister April Nall of Magnolia, TX and grandfather Bruno A. Scheffler of Houston.
The family will be staying at 1209 Wisconsin.
