A. D. Al DeShields, 82, died Monday, January 14, 2008 in Amarillo, Texas.BRBRServices will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday at First Southern Baptist Church with Rev. Calvin Winters, Pastor officiating. Masonic Graveside Rites will be held under the auspices of Harmony Unity Lodge 1242 in the The Garden of Good Shepherd at Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of MintonChatwell Funeral Directors of Fritch.BRBRAl was born on March 10, 1925 in Bearden, OK and had been a Fritch resident since 1946. He married Ruby Kelly on May 11, 1948 in Okemah, Ok. He was a supervisor for Phillips Petroleum Co. for 39 years and was a member of First Southern Baptist Church in Fritch and the Adobe Walls Masonic Lodge. He was a fireman during WW II on several airbases in the Civil Service. BRBRSurvivors include his wife Ruby DeShields of the home, two sons - Ray DeShields and wife Jenny of Borger, Gary DeShields and wife Sue of Fritch, daughter - Gere' Jester and husband Gale of Fritch, two brothers - H.W. Tubby DeShields of Amarillo, and Jack DeShields of Cromwell, OK, four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.BRBRCasket berarers will be Steve Schroeder, Aaron Mesneak, Derek Davis, Roy Talley, Burl Teague, and Arthur Waite.
