Alice Belle Yake

Alice Belle Blackmon Yake entered into the arms of angels on Monday, September 25, 2023, at her home on the Yake Ranch. 

Graveside services will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, September 27, 2023, in Stinnett Cemetery under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger. 

Alice was born on September 20, 1942, to Alonzo Blackmon and Willie Belle Lucas Blackmon.  She married Ira “Bud” Yake on June 6, 1958.  Alice enjoyed working on the ranch with her family, cooking, baking, and doing home interiors.  Nothing brought more joy to her life than being with her family. 

She is preceded in death by her parents, Alonzo and Willie Blackmon; husband, Ira “Bud” Yake; and grandson, Jacob Cullon.

Survivors include her four children, Henry Yake and wife Kim of Stinnett; Faye Hooper of Borger; JoBeth Contreras and Randy Galloway, Melissa Russell and husband Leslie of Stinnett; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren with one on the way due to arrive in February; sister, Shirley Ringo and husband Davy of Amarillo; and a very special companion, Calvin Bodey.

Pallbearers will be Henry Yake, Braden Miller, Canyon Dougherty, Brandon Hooper, Jarred Hooper, Jeremy Connywerdy, Dezi Contreras.  Honorary pallbearers will be Johnny Ray Long, Jerry Long and Mickey Blackmon.
