Alvin Piland, 87, died Tuesday, November 10, 2009 in Wheeler.

Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Westlawn Memorial Park with Pastor Don Rice of Faith Baptist Church in Fritch officiating. Interment will be in The Garden of Love at Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of MintonChatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.

Mr. Piland was born on April 7, 1922 in Honey Grove, TX and had been a Borger resident since 1948. He married Edna Charlene Hindman on May 24, 1946 in Paris, Tx. She preceded in death on October 19, 1992. He was also preceded in death by his second wife Ida Rannals in 2002. Alvin was the retired owner of Alvins Radiator Shop. He served in the U.S. Army during WW II. Alvin was a Baptist and he loved fishing.

He is survived by his son - Donnie Piland wife Roxanna of Borger, two sisters and two grandchildren - Dustin Piland and wife Marisa and Leah Don Piland.
