Amy Carroll Wright

Amy Carroll Wright, 91, passed away on Tuesday, February 25, 2025.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at First Baptist Church in Panhandle with Pastor Josh Light officiating. Burial will follow at Panhandle Cemetery under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Panhandle. The family will receive guests from 5-7 pm on Friday, February 28, 2025, at the funeral home. Her memory may be honored with a gift to First Baptist Church, P. O. Box 189 Panhandle, Texas 79068 or to a charity of choice. The family would like to extend their gratitude to her amazing neighbors and caregivers that she considered family. 

Amy was born March 1, 1933, in Lakeview, Texas to John Sidney Bickerstaff and Allie Olene Chandler Bickerstaff. She married William D. Wright on October 11, 1957. Amy was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Panhandle. She had an amazing thimble collection, enjoyed gardening and reading. Amy was a true social butterfly and just enjoyed quality time visiting with people. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially attending her grandkids' activities. 

She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Allie Bickerstaff; husband, William D. Wright; son, Kylon Sitz; brothers, Riley Zane Bickerstaff, Winfred Keet Bickerstaff; sister, Sandra Pregartner. 

Survivors include her daughters, Alyson Crabtree and husband Clint Walker of Panhandle, Teresa Jeffers and husband Mike of Panhandle, Debbie Black and husband David of New Braunfels, Pam Burrows and husband Jerry of Boerne, Texas; son, Bill Doug and wife Sherry of Amarillo; daughter-in-law, Debbie Sitz of Ballinger, Texas; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-seven great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of extended family.
