Anastacio Niavez

Anastacio Niavez, 67 of Borger passed away Wednesday, August 16, 2017 in Borger.

Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Sunday, August 20, 2017 at Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors in Borger. Funeral Mass will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, August 21, 2017 at the St. John's Catholic Church with Father Richard Zanetti officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Park Cemetery under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.

Anastacio Niavez was born May 2, 1950 in San Angelo, Texas to Ruben and Maria Torres Niavez. He had been a Borger resident for over 25 years coming from Hereford. Anastacio was a member of the St. John's Catholic Church, and loved feeding the animals outside, farming, and working puzzles. He was also a very good mechanic. Anastacio kept himself busy building and tinkering with things all the time.
He is preceded in death by his father Ruben Niavez, and a sister Sylvia Mata.


Survivors include his wife Daisy; mother Maria Torres of Borger; three sons Noe Niavez, and Michael Niavez both of Borger, Christopher Niavez and wife Stephanie of Portsmouth, Virginia; four daughters Cindy Phillips and James Ritchson, and Christina Ortiz and husband Jose, both of Borger, Deandra Niavez, and Stacy Niavez, both of Albuquerque, New Mexico; five brothers Steve Niavez and wife Sandy of Amarillo, Ruben Niavez and wife Molly of San Angelo, Robert Niavez and wife Paula of Ballinger, Eloy Niavez of Borger, Tommy Niavez and wife Monica of Lubbock; two sisters Elvia Moyer of Santa Fe, New Mexico, Delia Montour and husband Robert of Midland; 21 grandchildren, and 33 great grandchildren.
