Arthur Gross

Arthur J. Gross, 80 died Saturday January 5th in Amarillo. Graveside services will be 2:00 pm Tuesday at Panhadle Cemetery with Terry Callis Chaplain of Hospice care of the Southwest officiating. Burial will be at Panhandle Cemetery with military honors. Arrangements are by Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Panhandle.

Arthur was born October 17, 1932 in Colfax County, NE to August F. and Ida Marie Swobada Gross. He married Frances Elizabeth Rogers August 30, 1952 at Lincoln, NE. He retired from the US Navy after 24 years as a Lt. Commander. He graduated from US Naval Postgraduate School as a Nuclear Engineer. He received the China service medal, National defense Medal and Navy Unit Commendation. He worked at Cabot Carbon Black as a project manager for eight years.He was a Carson County resident since 1988. He was a marksman and loved shooting guns and reading.

He is survived by his wife Frances. Daughter Lorelei Woods and husband Michael of Amarillo. Sons Wayne Gross of Pearland, TX and Clayton Gross and wife Triska of Pearland, Tx. Eight grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and one great grandchild.
