Arvin H. “Cutter” Cowan, 85, passed away Sunday, October 16, 2022.
Funeral service will be held 11am on Thursday, October 20, 2022, at the Fritch Church of Christ with Mr. Richard Kasko, officiating. Burial will follow in Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Fritch. The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm Wednesday, October 19, 2022, at the funeral home in Fritch. In lieu of flowers his memory may be honored with a gift to the Fritch Church of Christ, PO Box 691, Fritch, Texas, 79036.
Arvin was born January 9, 1937, in Borger to Pete Cowan and Henrietta Lunday Cowan. He was a 1956 Phillips Blackhawk graduate. Arvin married Leona Rawlins on February 2, 1957. He worked for 40 years for Natural Gas Pipeline of America, and it took him many places. A gifted craftsman and a master woodworker, Arvin was able to remodel and build several homes in Fritch. Arvin was very active in the community, he was a charter member of the Fritch Rodeo Club, member of the Texas Walleye Association and served on the board of Texoma Federal Credit Union. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and raising horses. Nothing brought more joy to his life than his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Leona; grandson, Andrew Bell; and sister, Linda Monnett.
Survivors include daughters, Jan Bell and husband Donnie of Fritch, Lori Audrain and husband Kevin of Fritch; grandchildren, Alicia Bice and husband Scott of Canyon, Audra Anderson and husband Donald of Fritch, Andrea Lewis and husband Joshua of Amarillo, Averie Bell of Dallas; great grandchildren, Callen, Casen, Landri and Lynlee Bice, Aidan, Arvin, and Anson Anderson, Emma Lewis; numerous nieces; and nephews and a host of extended family.
