Avis Lillie Jones, 87, died Monday, May 7, 2007 in Panhandle, Texas.BRBRGraveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Panhandle Cemetery under the direction of MintonChatwell Funeral Directors of Panhandle.BRBRMrs. Jones was born on May 26, 1919 in Enloe, Texas to B. H. Ethel Mills. She was one of eighteen children. She was the housekeeper at St. Ann's Nursing Home for 17 years until she retired. Avis married Rube Jones on April 24, 1937 in Clarendon, Texas and he preceded her in death in 1981. She was also preceded in death by fifteen brothers and sisters.BRBRShe is survived by two sisters - Geneva Reese and husband, Ben of Hobopen, Georgia, Edna Lorenzo of Pompass Beach, Florida, several nieces and nephews, and her close friends, Bill Carolyn Brown of Panhandle.
