Barbara Jean Blythe, 78, passed away Saturday, March 12, 2016 in Amarillo.
Funeral services will be 2:00 pm. Monday, March 14, 2016 at Grace with Pastor Marshall Ford officiating. Burial will follow in the Garden of ''Love" at Westlawn Memorial Park. Services are under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.
Barbara Jean Blythe, was born August 23, 1937 in Okmulgee, Oklahoma to Byrd and Verlie Neill. They moved to Texas in 1949 when she was in Jr. High. She graduated high school from Dumas High School in 1955. She attended business school in Amarillo, followed by being employed at the Phillips Chemical Company in Cactus, Texas. After graduating as high school sweethearts, she married her best friend/husband, Donald Blythe, March 22, 1956 in Cactus. They had two sons, Mike Blythe born October 27, 1957, Joe Blythe born June 1, 1961, and one daughter, Terri Miller born March 20, 1960. Don and Barbara moved to Phoenix, Arizona in 1964. They resided there until 1970, when they moved back to Dumas. In 1997, they moved to Lake Meredith Harbor where they currently reside. Gammy loved her family, garage sale shopping, riding four wheelers, and riding around on her golf cart visiting with family and friends. More than anything, she loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Barbara is preceded in death by her parents, Byrd and Verlie.
Survivors include her husband Donald Blythe; two sons, Mike Blythe of Amarillo, Joe Blythe and wife Cindy of Fritch; daughter, Terri Miller and husband Kevin of Fritch; sister, Betty Collier of Sunray; sister-in-law, Dianne Blythe; brother-in-law's, Benny Blythe and wife Georgia, Bill Blythe and wife Jill; nine grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren, and many very special nieces and nephews.
