Barbara Mcwhorter

Barbara Janell McWhorter, 75 of Panhandle, died Sunday December 17th in Amarillo. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Wednesday December 20th at Panhandle Church of Christ. Burial will be in Panhandle Cemetery under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Panhandle.
Barbara was born January 26, 1942 in Memphis, TX to W. F.. and Eathel Mae (Shields) Henson. She married Keith McWhorter May 12, 1962 in Bath, Maine. She lived in Panhandle for 32 years and was a member of the Church of Christ. She was proud to be a navy wife for 20 years. She took great pride in her home and family, loved painting and ceramics and was a great cook and baker.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Horace Henson and infant sister Myrtle Lonnie Henson.
Surviving are her husband. Son Dunnigan and wife Regina McWhorter of Panhandle. Daughters Mahryhia Mills of Panhandle; Tina Williams and husband Dennis of Mansfield, TX. Brothers Robert Henson and wife Christine of Paris, TX and Mack Henson and wife Diana of Amarillo, TX. Sisters Betty Hamner of Amarillo; Brenda Skraastad and husband Russel of Guthrie, OK. Sister in law Joan Henson of Witchita Falls, TX. Six grandchildren Kalee Massey, Terrell Williams, Erin Mills, Trevor Williams, Dakota McWhorter and Dylan McWhorter,and three great grandchildren Kaegan, Karsyn and Kolton Massey.
