Barney Turner

Barney Turner, 86, passed away Tuesday, April 10, 2018.

Funeral service will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at Fairlanes Baptist Church with Pastor Paul Burwash officiating. Burial will follow in Stinnett Cemetery under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Fritch. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm on Friday, April 13, 2018 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers his memory may be honored with a gift to the Jane Phillips Society Scholarship Fund, Attn: Jackie Brand, PO Box 5118 Borger, Texas 79008.

Barney was born January 12, 1932 in Amarillo to Bonnie Ralph Turner and Helen Mack Compton Turner. He proudly served in the United States Air Force. Barney retired after a long career with the National Park Service. He was a member of Fairlanes Baptist Church and Billy Dixon Lodge #1369 in Fritch. Barney enjoyed listening to music and reading western novels especially Louis L'Amour and Ralph Compton.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Lillie of Fritch; son, Bryan Ray Turner and wife Tawna of Sun City, Arizona and two grandchildren, Heather Turner of Houston and Maya Turner of Sun City, Arizona.
