Barney Dee Ward, 70, longtime Borger resident, died in his home Wednesday, Aug. 29, but lives now in his heavenly home in the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Fairlanes Baptist Church with Rev.. Chad Chaddick officiating. Interment will be in Resthaven Garden at Highland Park Cemetery under the direction of MintonChatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.BR Barney was born August 31, 1936 in Clinton, Oklahoma, but made it to Borger just as soon as he could. He married his high school sweetheart, Mary Ivey, and raised two daughters. He worked as a sales representative for Weskem, transferring to Liberal, Kansas for five years before returning to Borger. Barney and Mary had recently celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary on July 19, 2007. He was a member of Fairlanes Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his father, James Oliver Ward, and his mother, Jewel Ward Cox, four brothers, James, Delbert, Troy, Eddie, and Glenn Ward, and one sister, Juanita Bell. There in heaven with him also is granddaughter, Elizabeth. He is survived by his wife, Mary, of the home, daughters, Kathy Loucks and husband, Randy, of Borger, and Karen Stoffle and husband, Ben, of Amarillo, brother - Robert Wayne Ward of Baytown, Tx., two sisters - Lorene Greer of Huntsville, TX., and Billie Jean Feezor of Greenville, Tx. Grandchildren include Scott Loucks, and wife, Tricia, Amarillo; Brett Loucks, Borger; Chris Stoffle, Amarillo; Shalmarie Permeter, and husband, Jon. Great-grandchildren include Jacy and Jada Permeter of Amarillo. Barney is survived by a host of nephews and nieces. Casket bearers will be David, Jerry, and Chris Smirl, Craig Ward, Scott Ward, and Donald Ward. Memorials may be made to Touching Lives Ministry P.O.
