Benjamin Karber

Fritch Benjamin Harold Karber, 84, of Fritch died Friday in Borger. Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Monday at First Southern Baptist Church Fritch with Rev. Calvin Winters, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in The Garden of Devotion Westlawn Memorial Park. Services are under the direction of MintonChatwell Funeral Directors of Fritch. Casket Bearers will be Rndy Mills, Randy Barber, Nathan Barber, Jimmy Karber, Austin Karber and Gary Massey. Honorary Casket Bearers will be Wesley Karber, Paul Karber and the Senior Men's Sunday School Class of First Southern Baptist Church Fritch. Benjamin was born July 13, 1923 in Spargo, Co. He served 43 months of Sea Service in the Navy during World War II and was a survivor of the USS Brilliant. Mr. Karber helped build the 2nd Chance Gun Club and was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church of Fritch. He married Lois Ruth Hutson on January 24, 1946 in Liberal, Kansas. He was preceeded in death by his parents, 3 brothers and 3 sisters. Survivors include his wife, Lois of the home; 2 sons - Don Karber and Vivian of Fritch and Harold Karber and Sue of Kingfisher, OK; a daughter - Betty Barber and Randy of Burkburnett, TX; 2 brothers - Jim Karber of Lubbock and Robert Karber of Fort Smith, Arkansas; 3 sisters - Daisy Kennel of Missourri, Ruth Hutson fo Bayview, TX and Vonita Barnes of Eufala, OK; 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. In Leu of flowers, the family ask that memorials be made to First Southern Baptist Church of Fritch Family Life Building Fund at P.O. Box 358 Fritch, Tx 79036.
