Betty Banta

Betty Jo Woods Banta, 90, died February 18, 2017 in Borger. Graveside services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday at Westlawn Memorial Park with Jake Minton officiating. Services are under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.

Betty was born June 11, 1926 in Morton, TX to Wilbur Alexander Woods and Zona Elizabeth Roberson Woods. She was a graduate of Wayland Baptist College and a member of the Fairlanes Baptist Church. Betty married Hubert Mancil Banta on May 26, 1945 in Morton. They moved to Borger in 1950. She loved cooking, crafts of all kinds and playing games.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and her sister Beth White.

Betty is survived by her son Gary Mancil Banta and his wife Debbie of Bryan, TX, her daughter Carolyn Shelton and her husband Sam of Fritch and her sister June Kennedy of Morton, 8 Grandchildren, 11 Great Grandchildren and 5 Great Great Grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home in Borger from 5:00 until 7:00 Friday evening.
