Betty Gunter

Betty Jean Gunter, 59, passed away Friday, September 14, 2018.

A celebration of her life will be 11 am on Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at First Southern Baptist Church with Mr. Jake Minton officiating.

Betty was born January 29, 1959 in Borger to Leon and Jewell Gurley Anderson. She married Ronald Gunter on January 1, 1982 in Fritch. Betty enjoyed watching television, traveling and her animals especially her cats. She had a true passion for teaching. She shared that passion as a kindergarten teacher for over 11 years teaching in both Fritch and Borger.

She is preceded in death by her father; and mother and father-in-law, J.C. Gunter and Louise Gunter.

Survivors include her husband, Ronnie of the Fritch; son, Jordan Gunter of Amarillo; daughter, Amanda Keeney and husband Daniel of Fritch; mother, Jewell Anderson of Belton; brothers, Billy Anderson and wife Pam of Belton, Robert Anderson and wife Margaret of Georgetown; and brothers-in-law, Johnny Gunter and wife Alice of Fritch, Jerry Gunter and wife Katie of Garland.

The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thanks to the staff of Borger Nursing Center and to BSA Hospice of the Southwest for going above and beyond in their care of Betty and the family.
