Betty Hughes

Betty Joline Trammell Hughes, 92, passed away Saturday, July 9, 2022.

Graveside services will be held at 10 am Tuesday, July 12, 2022, in Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.  The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm on Monday, July 11, 2022, at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers her memory may be honored with a gift to The ALS Association, PO Box 37022, Boone, IA 50037-0022.

Betty was born March 5, 1930, in Chickasha, Oklahoma to Oscar A. Wilson and Lillie Mae Aplin Wilson.  She was a member of Riverview Baptist Church.  Betty enjoyed tending to her flowers, plants, and yard.  She also enjoyed dancing, cooking, and hosting large dinners at her home, and redecorating her homes.  Betty was an elegant woman full of grace and dignity, she always was dressed in classy clothing, matching shoes, handbag, and beautifully done makeup.  Nothing brought more joy to her life than her children who she loved very much.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Lillie Mae Wilson; husband, F. Dean Hughes; son, Robert “Bob “Trammell; grandson, Jason Harris; 3 brothers; and 5 sisters.

Survivors include daughters, Linda Tooley and husband Loren, Deborah Criswell, Vicki Cochran, Kathi Cordray and husband Richard; son, Richard Hughes and wife Cecile; daughter-in-law, Stephenie Trammell; grandchildren; Michelle Olinger and husband Edward, Shannon Tooley and wife Angela, David Criswell and wife Monica, R. Brad Criswell, Kimberly Martinez and husband Eric, Jaime Courville and husband Donnie, Racheal Hughes, Shane Hughes and wife Sydney, Coy Cordray, Cassie Cordray; 17 great grandchildren; 7 great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of extended family.
