Betty Jordan

Betty Bob Ware Jordan, 84, passed away Monday, May 16, 2016.

Funeral service will be held 10 am Thursday, May 19, 2016 in the Fritch Church of Christ with Mr. Richard Kasko officiating. Burial will following the Memory Gardens in Pampa under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger. In lieu of flowers her memory may be honored with a gift to High Plains Children's Home, 11461 South Western Street, Amarillo, Texas 79118 or to a charity of choice.

Betty was born to Claude and Kate Burrus Fletcher on March 23, 1932 in Abilene, Texas. Betty attended Lee College and Texas Tech where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Foods and Nutrition in 1955. She moved to Borger in 1955 and was employed at North Plains Hospital for 30 years before becoming self-employed and traveling the Panhandle as a dietary consultant for 15 years.

She married Jack Ware in Borger, on May 4, 1956. He preceded her in death in 1984. She and Jack were blessed with three children, numerous nieces and nephews and many friends. She was active in church activities. She taught Bible school and was a dedicated disciple reaching out to everyone she met to encourage them to have a relationship with Jesus Christ. She believed in the importance of volunteering in your community. She was a member of the American Dietetic Association, the Borger Chamber of Commerce, Women's Division, Hutchinson County Literacy Council, and the American Cancer Society, later in life participating in Relay for Life, the PTA, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, RSVP, and Hospice Care of the Southwest.

Betty had a gift for hospitality and most people called her Aunt Betty or Grandma Betty. Everyone was welcome in her home and family. Betty moved her mother, Kate Fletcher, into her home when they were both widows and cared for her until her death in 2000. She and Jack made a special connection with Dwight and Jenny Alewine and their 4 daughters. They are surrogate son, daughter and granddaughters.

Her children and grandchildren all arise and call her Blessed: Hellen and Larry Kitchen of Amarillo; Duglas and Dorothy Ware of Pampa; Martha and Randy Johnson of Borger. Grandchildren, Sam and Maegan Johnson of Addison; Sean and Liana Johnson of Virginia Beach, Virginia; Danielle Kitchen of Amarillo; Jack and Aaron Ware of Amarillo; Matthew Kitchen of Amarillo; Kayla Ware of Lubbock; Kami Ware and Jace Ware of Pampa.

She fell in love at first sight with Ramee Jordan and married him on December 12, 1998. Ramee brought into their relationship 3 adult children and their spouses, Connie and Mike Singleton, Ramee and Mary Ann Jordan and Marty and Vanda Jordan. Betty was also delighted to inherit his 7 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She and Ramee enthusiastically participated in evangelism, volunteered at nursing homes and encouraged their grandchildren with cards, words of encouragement and with their presence at milestones in their lives. They were blessed to be married for 10 years before his death in 2008.

In total she has 15 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, a grandson, Jake Seth Johnson, and her brothers, Claude and Charlie Fletcher. She has two living siblings, Kay Hobbs of Lubbock, Danny Fletcher and wife Kathy of Dallas, and a sister-in-law, Agnes Fletcher of Houston.
