Betty May Wells

Betty May Wells, 80, passed from this life Saturday, July 15, 2023 in Borger.  A Celebration of her Life will be 10:00 a.m. Friday at Westlawn Memorial Park.  Cremation is under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.

Betty was born July 15, 1943 in Iowa City, Iowa to Clyde Robert Merten and Ida May Adams Merten. Betty married Roger D. Wells on August 10, 1977 in Clear Lake, Iowa.  Betty held many jobs over her lifetime and enjoyed sharing stories of her early days.  She was feisty  and had a great sense of humor.   She spent the last several years of her life at Borger HealthCare Center where she was loved by all those who shared in her care.  She has lived in Borger since 2009 and was a member of Riverview Baptist Church where her love for her savior was rekindled.   

Betty was preceded in death by her parents and baby daughter Lisa Marie Petro whom she mourned deeply and is rocking now in heaven.  

Betty is survived by her special friends, Judy Rankin and Lea Minton, sister Susan Wells of Borger and nephew Rick Wells and wife Cora of Borger

Judy and Lea would like to thank all the staff at Borger Health Care and Interim Hospice that took wonderful care of Betty.
