Betty Willard

Betty Jean Willard, 90, passed away Friday, December 11, 2015.

Funeral service will be held 4 pm Tuesday, December 15, 2015 at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Brad Reeves, officiating. Burial will be held 1 pm central standard time on Saturday, December 19, 2015 in Nara Visa Cemetery in Nara Visa, New Mexico. The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm on Monday at the funeral home in Panhandle. In lieu of flowers her memory may be honored with a gift to a charity of choice.

Betty was born June 24, 1925 in Long Beach, California to Rachael Alice Irene (Hudson) and Lester Earl Rinestine. She married Dale Burton Willard on February 7, 1948 in Clayton, New Mexico. She enjoyed decorative painting, collecting and repairing dolls, gardening and sewing. A member of the American Sewing Guild, Betty was a gifted seamstress who taught others her passion of sewing. Nothing brought more joy to her life than being with her family.

She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Lester Earl Rinestine, Jr. (Sonny); and a sister, Rachel Irene Turner (Sug).

Survivors include her husband, Dale of the home; sons, Peter Shane Willard and wife Rhonda of Panhandle, Daniel Earl Willard and wife Carol of Albuquerque; daughter, Lisa Marie Marnell and husband T.J. of Amarillo; daughter-in-love, Jowain LaFaye Gray of Amarillo; eight grandchildren, Erin, Danika, Morgan, Jesse, Justin, Dusty, Rusty, Shane; twelve great grandchildren and one great grandson due to arrive in January; sister, Mary Ellen Mallinger and husband Frank of Amarillo; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of extended family.
