Billie Simmons

Billie Simmons, beloved Mother and Grandmother, was called to her eternal resting place on Thursday, February 4, 2021. She passed peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones.

She entered this world on May 7, 1933 in Carter, Oklahoma.  She was born to Thomas and Loleta Spencer.  Billie married Waymond Luther Simmons on October 18, 1948 in Shamrock, Texas.

Billie was an extremely talented musician and enjoyed sharing her love of music with others.  She sold Avon for 27 years, loved to play bridge, cook and go fishing.

She is survived by her daughter, Patti Cox of Amarillo; daughter-in-law, Karen Simmons of Amarillo; 3 granddaughters; 12 great grandchildren; and a multitude of great-great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Waymond Luther Simmons; son, John Simmons; and a grandson, Levi Cox.

Funeral services will be held 10 am Monday, February 8, 2021 at the First Christian Church in Fritch, Texas.  Burial will follow at 3 pm in Carter Cemetery, Carter, Oklahoma.  Services are under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Fritch.
