Billy ONeil Yeager was the 1st of 4 children born November 17, 1931 in Crockett, TX to Cora Jane Bradley Yeager and Elmer ONeil Yeager.
In Dec. 1950 he joined the US Navy and served his country aboard the USS St. Paul during the Korean Conflict until Oct. 1954 attaining the rank of Petty Officer 2nd class.
On November 26, 1955, in Borger, TX, with family and friends gathered, he married Helen Rosena Airington at the Buena Vista Baptist Church.
Bills career in the oil and gas services business involved everything from equipment operator to Regional Management and spanned 40 years working for companies such as Producers Chemical, Cardinal Chemical, Dresser Industries, and the Western Company in locations from Pampa and Perryton, TX, Gillette, WY, Hobbs, NM and finally Sidney, MT where for 32 years he acted as a completion consultant for various Oil and Gas operators and then retired.
He loved to hunt and fish and watch John Wayne movies and later in life, horses. Bill was a 50year member of Ochiltree Masonic Lodge in Perryton, TX serving as Master of the Lodge in 1970. He was also a member of the National Rifle Association and the National Appaloosa Horse Club.
He died April 21, 2014 at the age of 82 from complications that were the result of an auto accident in November, 2012 and was preceded in death by his parents Cora and Elmer Yeager of Marble Falls, TX and a brother, Bobby Paul Yeager of Clinton, OK.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Rosena Yeager of Sidney, MT a daughter, Valerie Halterman and her husband, Martin of Marlow, OK a son, Gary Yeager of Marlow, OK two grandchildren, Erica Halterman of Marlow, OK, Josh Yeager of Marlow, OK two sisters, Sue Pipkin of Byers, CO, Rebecca Murley of Fritch, TX brotherinlaw, Everett Airington of Dallas, TX as well as numerous nieces and nephews, cousins and other family members and friends.
The family will receive guests 11 am 12:30 pm Monday, April 28, 2014 at Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger. Graveside service will be held at 1:30 Monday at Highland Park Cemetery.
