Billye Roberts

Billye J. " Cris " Roberts, 85, of Borger passed away Friday, March 27th in Borger. Funeral services will be 10:00 am, Tuesday, March 31st at Wesley United Methodist Church with Dr. Jerry Lane, pastor of White Deer United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be at Wheeler Cemetery at 3:00 pm, Tuesday, under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger. Visitation will be Monday from 5 pm to 7 pm at the funeral home.

Cris was born May 24, 1929 in Paducah, TX to Arthur L. and Eddie Mae Frazier Criswell. She graduated from Paducah High School in 1946. She worked at the Paducah Post newspaper from 1946 to 1950 when she married S. D. Miller, son of
H. O. and Virgie Mae Cambell Miller in 1950. They lived in Dickson, Spur, and Wheeler before moving to Borger where they owned and operated City cleaners, Service Cleaners and Mark's Discount Cleaners.

Cris clerked for Heard and Jones after they sold their shop, and moved to Brazil for 3 years and and California for 2 years. In 1983 she worked for Dr. Frank Brown until 1989 when she married James Roberts. She was a longtime member of Wesley United Methodist Church where she worked and taught Sunday school, was in UMW and choir.

Cris is preceded in death by her husband's, S. D. Miller in 1986 and James Roberts 2002. Also a daughter, Sharon Joyce; brothers, Arthur D. Criswell, Michael Criswell and Wallace Criswell; step-daughter Glenda Stone.

Cris is survived by a son, Mark Miller and girlfriend, Hallie Throckmorton of Borger. Grandchildren, Krista Adams and Michelle Fraley; great-grandchildren, Donavan Miller, Aspyn Adams, Hunter Fraley, Nathan Fraley and Jordan Fraley; Step-daughters Alice McCullum and Kathy Huffine.

Memorials may be made to the Parkinson Association or Wesley United Methodist Church 1202 Valley Dr. Borger, TX 79007.
