Bobbie Bowling

August 11, 1930 — February 13, 2016

Bobbie Jean Bowling, 85, left this earth on Saturday, February 13, 2016 in the Park Manor Nursing Home in the Woodlands, Texas. Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Panhandle Cemetery under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger. The family will receive friends and family at the funeral home in Borger from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Tuesday.

Bobbie was born August 11, 1930 in Dimmitt, TX to W. D. and Anna Lee Ferrell. She attended school in Panhandle, after high school she went to the University of Texas to study nursing. She changed her life's path to marry W. V. Bowling on January 1, 1949 in Borger to become a wife and mother to two sons, Wayne and Ricky. Bobbie lived in Borger for 58 years until she moved to Conroe, TX to be with her son Wayne. She dealt with several afflictions that were part of her everyday life. Her strength, faith and love of family helped her to handle the symptoms throughout her life.

Bobbie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband W. V. Bowling in 1995, her son Ricky in 1981 and her sister Billie Ann Long.

She is survived by her son Wayne and his wife Mabel of Conroe, TX, her grandson Robbie Bowling and his wife Lola of Amarillo, her great granddaughter Alyssa Bowling of Midland, TX, her sister Ruby Miller and sons Larry and Terry of Ohio, her sister in law Francis Bowling of Borger and her son Mike of Sugarland, TX, her nieces Sharon Mangum and husband Ricky of Amarillo, Kay McAdams and husband Steve of Stratford, her nephew Dale Bickerstaff of Fritch and other extended family and friends.
