Bobby Ray Berry, 75, passed Monday, Feb. 5, 2024, in McLean, Texas.
Funeral services will be on Saturday, Feb. 10, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at the Cross Community Church of God in Borger with Eric Horton, Pastor of The Crossing Church of God in Brownfield officiating. Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 9, 2024 at the funeral home.
Bobby was born Feb. 19, 1948, in Borger, to Charley DeWayne and Eula Lee Berry. He was a lifetime resident of Borger. He was a younger brother to Kay and Elizabeth and older brother to Connie.
He graduated from Borger High School in 1966. He went to work for ConocoPhillips in 1970. He married the love of his life Mary Diann Loven on Feb. 12, 1972. The two of them were blessed with two children, Angela Ann, on July 17, 1973, and Rusty Ray on June 7, 1978. He retired from Phillips in 2005. Not content to just rest on his laurels, he went to work as a bus driver for Borger ISD shortly after retiring. He retired from there in 2023. Bobby loved the Lord with all of his heart and served him faithfully for many years. He was a faithful and active member of the Cross Community Church of God.
He was the proud grandfather of Timothy Daniel Gray, born Feb. 9, 2001, and Samuel Ray Berry, born July 25, 2013. They were the light and joy of his life. Bobby loved his family and made sure they were taken care of. He truly led his family well.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three infant sisters, Helen, Lane, and Ruby.
Survivors include his wife Diann of the home; his children, Angela Gray and husband Jason of Amarillo, and Rusty Berry and wife Michelle of Borger; his grandsons Timothy Gray of Amarillo and Samuel Berry of Borger; three sisters, Kaye Thornton and husband Wayne of Sulphur Springs, Elizabeth Davis and husband Scott of Pampa, and Connie Englund and husband Phil of Lubbock, beloved cousin/best friend Dean Berry and wife Virgie of Borger; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
The family will be staying at 400 Santa Fe in Borger. They wish to thank McLean Care Center for taking care of Bobby so well these last few weeks. They also wish to thank the Cross Community Church of God and Faith Covenant Church for their love and care during this difficult time.
