Bridget M. Bridie King, 84 died Monday, May 21, 2007 in Round Rock, Texas.BRBRRosary Services will be at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 23rd at Minton Memorial Chapel. Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, at St. John's Catholic Church with Father officiating. Interment will be in The Garden of Devotion at Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of MintonChatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.BRBRBridie was born on October 21, 1922 in Ballyhaunis, Co. Mayo, Ireland to Patrick Grogan and Mary Ellen Coyne. She met her husband, Roskoe in England during WW II and they married in Birmingham, England on December 8, 1945. As a War Bride, she traveled to Borger where she and Rocky raised 14 children. BRBRThe King children were blessed by many tales she had to tell of the Irish culture and her life in Ireland. In following the nature of the Irish, she was a wonderful writer of poetry and limericks, some of which were published and she won two Golden Poet Awards for her works.BRBRShe resided in Borger for 59 years where she was a member of St. John's Catholic Church.
She will be missed greatly by all who knew her and we all hope to see her again in heaven where we know her blue Irish eyes are smiling.BRBRShe was preceded in death by her husband, Roskoe S. King, her mother and father, a granddaughter and two grandsons.BRBRShe is survived by nine sons and five daughters - Patrick King of Bastrop, Kathie Willemin of Austin, Mike King of Austin, Edi King of Borger, Gladie King of Leander, Steve King of Elgin, Kevin King of Cedar Park, Peggy Townsend of Borger, Noreen King of Fritch, Brian King of New Braunfels, David King of Borger, John King of Borger, Bob King of Wimberley and Tim King of New Braunfels; one brother - John Grogan of Amarillo, two sisters - Kathleen Colwell of Amarillo, Chrissie Cantrell of Borger, twenty-three grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
