In lieu of flowers his memory may be honored with a gift to the Scottish Rite Hospital, St. Jude's or a charity of choice.

Butch was born in Gordonville, TX on December 18, 1935 to Ancel Aaron and Maude Worthington Rawlins and was the youngest of 11 children. He lived with his family on their farm until they moved to Fritch in 1947. He graduated from Phillips High School as a member of the Class of 1953 and he was always so proud to be a Blackhawk. He went to work for Phillips 66 Petroleum Company and was a fireman for the company until his retirement in 1987. He married Mamie Dean Shaw on May 27, 1957 and they were married 61 years and his love for her transcends this world. They had 3 children that were born in Borger, but raised in Phillips to have Blackhawk pride like him.

Butch always worked extra jobs like trimming trees, roofing houses, construction projects because he had extra time off from the fire station schedule and he couldn't stand to be idle. Upon his retirement, he continued to stay busy as he co-owned the Kerr-McGee Station in Borger with his brother, Ray, and The Youth Mart which he and his wife owned and he had several rental properties in town.

Butch and Mamie moved to Lewisville, TX in the spring of 1988 and he was self-employed as Top Line Carriers until he retired again in 2009. He was a 32nd Degree Mason for over 50 years and a member of Scottish Rite, Adobe Walls Lodge and Eastern Star. He enjoyed his family and loved to joke about "babysitting" all of his grandkids, when all the while taking them on treasure hunts, to the park or doing most anything that they wanted him to do. He liked cookouts at the pool, doing his signature backflip off of the diving board, playing golf with his boys, riding horses, motorcycles and pretty much anything with wheels. He loved to tell stories and then laugh his distinctive laugh. He liked fishing and loved playing baseball. His favorite hobby was his kids and grandkids, whatever they were involved in and enjoyed, that's where he could be found. Butch was always a "giver" and had trouble asking for help from others and yet would give the shirt off his back to a total stranger. He was a good man, a better friend and the best father and grandfather! His greatest pleasure was spending time with his wife and kids. The silence where his voice should be will echo in our hearts until we meet him again in heaven.

Butch is survived by his wife, Mamie, daughters, Natalie Rawlins of Borger and Karla Dietz and husband, Wendell, of St. Francisville, Louisiana, and son, Max Rawlins and wife, Yania, of Angleton, TX.

Granddaughters: Rachel Rawlins and Lee Carver of Denton, TX and Emily Rawlins of Angleton, TX.
