Byron Williams

July 16, 1909 — November 22, 2007

Panhandle Byron Alton B.A. Williams passed away on the 22nd day of November, 2007 at the age of 98. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday at the Calvary Baptist Church in Panhandle with Rev. Joe Zimmerman of 1st Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow in the Panhandle Cemetery under the direction of MintonChatwell Funeral Directors of Panhandle.Masonic Graveside rites will be conducted by the Caron Masonic Lodge 1167.BR B.A. was born to Elmore and Annie WIlliams on the Shott Ranch between Silverton and Quitaque, Texas. He attended public school in Gasoline, TX and grew up in the Turkey - Quitaque areas. He was preceeded in death by his parents and wife Ruby. He moved to Panhandle in 1942 and worked at Pantex as a mounted guard. He was a long-time employee of Carson County, serving 16 years as County Commisioner of Princinct 2 and was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Panhandle. B.A. is survived by two sons - Melvin Williams of Sam Rayburn and Lynn Williams of Granbury; four grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
