Calvin Woods

Calvin E. Woods, 47, passed away Thursday, October 20, 2016.

Funeral service will be held 3 pm Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at Borger Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Bruce Ridling officiating. Burial will follow in Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.

Calvin was born April 26, 1969 in Borger to Shirley and Tommie Woods. He married Kristie Smith on October 1, 1988. Calvin had an amazing sense of humor. He enjoyed gardening, hunting, riding four wheelers, working as a mechanic and welder with his friends and Dodges. Nothing brought more joy to his life than being with his family especially his wife and son.

He is preceded in death by his father, Tommie Woods; mother, Shirley Nutt; son, Calvin Woods, Jr.; and a sister, Lisa Jean Jobe.

He is survived by his wife Kristie; son, Jon Woods both of the home; baby girl, Erica Salazar and husband Joel and their daughter Jaylee; brother, Tommie Joe Woods and wife Loreta of Windom, Ohio; sisters, Deborah Zipp and husband Eric of Dallas, Teresa Gardner and husband Walt of Ruby Valley, Nevada, Betty Watson and husband Larry of Washburn, Texas, Penny Woods of Amarillo, Sis Bond and husband Randy of Canyon; mother-in-love, Teresa Mims; numerous nieces and nephews; special nephew and niece, Brandon Woods and wife Selena, Tara Hopkins; extended brothers, Marvin Heathington and wife Dena, Rusty Hopkins and wife Candace, Brandon Hopkins and wife Marcy; beloved canine companions, Blue and Alexis; and a host of beloved in-laws and outlaws.
