Caren Deanne Garrard, 46 of Skellytown, passed away on Tuesday, July 13, 2021. Caren was born in Borger, TX and attended Borger High School. She also attended Frank Phillips College where she received her Associate Degree in Business Administration. After graduation Caren worked for Northwest Insulation until she married Jack Garrard on February 4, 2006 on a ranch in Carson County. They moved to Skellytown where she worked for Carter Sand and Gravel. Caren had a deep love for family and cherished the time she spent with them. She was a devoted mom to her children Devin, Holly, Mathew, Colton and Kai. Caren treasured her children and embraced every moment with them. She loved her role as “Mimi” to her great nieces, Aliyah and Kora Cook, great-nephew, Alexzander Cook, niece, Alissa Sandefur.
Caren had a bubbly personality and was loved by everyone who knew her. She enjoyed camping, walking, playing with the kids and attending activities for her kids.
Caren is survived by her husband, Jack of Skellytown; five children, Devin Patterson of Pampa, Holly Patterson of White Deer, Mathew Robinson of Sanford, Colton Garrard of Skellytown, Kai Garrard of Skellytown. She is also survived by her father and step-mom, John and Regina Sandefur of Borger; sister, Carmen Parker of Nederland, TX; brother Zachary Sandefur of Scott City, KS; uncle, Rusty and wife, Lisa Sandefur of Cypress; aunt Nancy and John Mitchner of Blue Springs, MO; nephew, Eric Cook of Borger; nieces, Kiley Fite of Borger and Alissa Sandefur of Scott City, KS; mother, Cindy and step-father, David Raines of Greenville, SC.
Caren is preceded in death by her grandparents, Roy and Inez Sandefur, and her step-grandmother, LaDell Atwood.
Caren will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. When you think of Caren, Celebrate the good memories you have of her. Remember that life is fragile and short and to cherish your loved ones.
Funeral Services will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, July 17 at the First Church of the Nazarene in Borger, with Sherry Barrow officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Park Cemetery under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors. The family will meet friends at the funeral home from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Friday evening.
