Carl Dean Whipkey, 86, passed away Thursday, May 12, 2016 in Borger.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 16, 2016 at the First Southern Baptist Church in Fritch with Pastor Calvin Winters officiating. Graveside services will be 3:00 p.m. at the Buffalo Cemetery in Beckham County, Oklahoma near Sweetwater, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Fritch.

Carl was born December 30, 1929 in Mayfield, Oklahoma to Edward and Mary Francis (Witherspoon) Whipkey. He married Lois Marie Coffey in Sayre, Oklahoma, December 29, 1949. Carl lived in the Borger, Fritch area for over 60 years, coming from Mayfield, Oklahoma. He was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church, and loved golfing, fishing, hunting, and carpentry. Carl worked for the J.M. Huber Company until his retirement.

He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Gene and Leon Whipkey, a sister, Margie Bass, and three infant grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife Lois of the home; his daughter, Carla Jean Fite of Borger; three sons, Douglas Raye Whipkey and wife Fern of Baytown, Timothy Neil Whipkey of Borger, Rickey Allen Whipkey of Fritch; a sister Yvonne Weherbein of Amarillo; a brother Ben Whipkey of Washington State; three granddaughters, Athena Onorato of Palm Bay, Florida, Deanna Scott of Borger, Lou Ann Fite of Lenoir, North Carolina; two grandsons, Cody Whipkey and Dillon Whipkey and wife Sarah both of Ada, Oklahoma; four great grandsons, John Scott and wife Sierra of Wichita Falls, Bryan and Brendan Onorato both of Palm Bay, Florida, Zachary Whipkey of Ada, Oklahoma, and his great granddaughter, Adeline Whipkey of Ada, Oklahoma.
