Carolyn Lewis

Carolyn Diane Cheatwood Lewis, 62, of Amarillo, Texas, passed away Wednesday, October 20, 2010 at Northwest Texas Hospital in Amarillo, Texas.

Services will be Saturday, October 23, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. at Riverview Baptist Church in Borger, Texas with Rev. Jimmy Gillmore, Pastor officiating. Interment will be at Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of MintonChatwell Funeral Directors of Fritch.

She was born in Borger, Texas, to J.D. and Georgia Ellen Cheatwood on May 4, 1948.
Preceding her in death was her father, J.D. Cheatwood in 2004, and her daughter, Rhonda Lynn McBrayer in 1985.

Surviving children include sons, Lorne McBrayer and wife, Tammy of Sanford, Texas Brian Lewis and wife, Laurie, of Tyler, Texas and Kevin Lewis and wife, Susan, of Splendora, Texas, and her mother, Georgia Ellen Cheatwood of Amarillo, Texas.

Surviving grandchildren include, Kaycee McBrayer of Amarillo, Texas Christopher McBrayer of Sanford, Texas and Brandon Lewis of Splendora, Texas.

Also surviving is her sister, Donna Richardson and husband, Larry, of Fritch, Texas and a brother, David Cheatwood, of Santa Fe, Texas.

Surviving nieces and nephews include, Jessica Sneed and husband, Jimmy, of Lubbock, Texas, Darren Richardson, of Amarillo, Texas Justin Cheatwood and Cody Cheatwood, both of Santa Fe, Texas. She is also survived by numerous aunts and uncles, including a very special uncle, Travis Cheatwood, of Pearland, Texas.

Miss Carol as she was lovingly called by her coworkers at Home Depot on Georgia St., was a Special Service Desk Associate. She looked forward to working the Kids Workshop each month. She will be dearly missed by all.

Carolyn will lie in state at MintonChatwell Funeral Home in Fritch, Texas. The family will be receiving friends and family at 104 Jose Poco in Fritch.

Casket bearers will be Lorne McBrayer, Brian Lewis, Kevin Lewis, Darren Richardson, Morgan McBrayer and Justin Cheatwood.
