Carolyn Poindexter

Carolyn Ann Poindexter, 79, passed away Monday, February 22, 2021.

Graveside services will be held 2 pm Saturday, February 27, 2021 at Highland Park Cemetery under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.  The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm on Friday, February 26, 2021 at the funeral home.

Carolyn was born February 20, 1942 in Dallas to Francis Hooten and Martha Marie Greer Hooten.  She married Donald Lee Poindexter on October 13, 1984 in Fleetwood, Pennsylvania.  Carolyn was a member of Cross Community Church of God.  She enjoyed spending her time teaching Sunday School, volunteering at the Opportunity Center, and serving on the board of Helping Hands as Vice President.  Carolyn loved her church family, reading and doing yard work.  Nothing brought more joy to her life than her family.  She loved Aileen Jackson for all her help through her treatments and the Hopkins family has been very special to her and helped in many ways.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Francis and Martha Hooten; husband, Donald; brother, Leroy Hooten; and sister, Linda Langer.

Survivors include her son, Scott Strickland of Corpus Christi; grandchildren, Hunter and Mikayla Strickland, Gabrielle Strickland, Katy and Chris Yancy, great grandchildren, Fletcher and Brooks Yancy; and brother, Wayne Hooten of Dallas.
