Charlene Martin

Charlene Landess Martin, 85, of Munday, TX formally of Borger died Thursday December 17th in Lubbock.
Graveside services will be 2:00 pm Monday at Westlawn Memorial Park with Rev. Don Rice, pastor Faith Baptist officiating. Burial is under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.

Charlene was born August 20,1930 in Lamesa, TX to Arch B. and Thelma "Monk" Lightfoot Landess. She moved to Borger with her parents from Brownfield, Tx in 1944.Charlene and James Baker, Army Master Sgt married in the fifties. She had her only child Jana Lynn Baker whom she adored. After her first husband died she married James Martin for 51 years living in Borger. They moved to Munday, TX in 2006. She spent her ultimate career as the Hutchinson County Librarian.

She was preceded in death by her daughter Jana Thompson, parents, husband, brothers Bill Landess , Bobby Landess and a nephew Glenn Landess.

She is survived by a brother Joe Landess. Grandsons Richard and Jeffrey Thompson, great grandson Joshua Thompson. Numerous nieces and nephews.

The family suggest memorials be sent to University Medical Center Supportive Care Unit in Lubbock, Tx 602 Indiana Ave. Lubbock, TX 79415 who showed compassion, professionalism and wonderful care.
