Charles Brown

Charles Starling Brown, 90 of Panhandle went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday August 15, 2018 in Panhandle. Funeral services will be 10:00 am Saturday at First Baptist Church of Panhandle. Burial will be in Panhandle Cemetery under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Panhandle. Family will receive friends on Friday at the funeral home from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

Charles was born January 17, 1928 in Pritchett, CO to Charles and Jettie (Stovall) Brown. He served in the US Navy during WWII. He married Mary Dean Carney March 4, 1950 at Westfork, Arkansas. Charles worked at Pantex as a firefighter for 42 years. He loved fishing, gardening and bicycling. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Panhandle and a mason for over 60 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, daughter Judy Mae Paulson and a brother Rayvo.

Surviving are his sons, Sterling Brown of Panhandle, Kenneth and wife, Kathy of Panhandle, Buddy and wife, Bonnie of Del Norte, CO; son-in-law Fred Paulson of Montana; sister, Mary Garnett of Coffeyville, KS; seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one great-grandchild on the way.
