Charles Darnell

Charles M. Darnell, 94, of Borger died Friday August 19th at his home. Funeral services will be 10:00 am Tuesday August 23rd at Calavary Baptist Church with Rev. Jeff Hutchinson, pastor officiating. Burial will be in the Resthaven Garden at Highland Park Cemetery under the direction of MintonChatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.

Charles was born January 18, 1917 at Haskell, Texas to Edward Franklin and Maggie Virginia Darnell. He worked as an iron worker for 30 years and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and a Borger resident for 69 years. He Married Neudy Erle Crisp Nov. 2, 1939 at Rising Star, Texas. She preceded him in death in 1971. Charles then married Audry Yarbrough Ratliff March 12, 1976 at Borger and she passed away in 2009. He was also preceded in death by daughters Nita Beth Coyner 2001 and Katherine Ryan in 2006 and also his parents. He loved to read his Bible and spend time with family.

He is survived by a son Gayland Darnell of Borger, TX, 2 Daughters Mary Virginia Havron and Cleta Joy Darnell both of Borger. Seven step children. Nineteen grandchildren, many great grandchildren and many great great grandchildren.
