Charles Melvin Stolp, 90 of Amarillo died Wednesday January 13th in Amarillo.
Memorial services will be 10:30 am Monday, January18th at Minton Memorial Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Cole of Pampa officiating. Arrangements are by Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.
Charles (Melvin) was born June 2, 1925 in Chandler, OK to Charles Johnson and Bertha Crouch. As a young man, he served in the US Navy during WWII. He worked in many different fields including transportation and the cement and asphalt industry. Melvin loved to tell jokes and pull pranks on anyone he could. He loved music and was always playing his little cassette player and singing as loud as he could! He also loved to go dancing and fishing. He was loved by everyone that met him and was always known to be a true gentleman.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister.
Charles is survived by his brother Elmer Johnson of Council Hill, OK. Sisters Edith Richerson of Fritch, TX and Ida Silberg of Pampa.
