Cheryl Dacus

Cheryl Anne Dacus, 56, of Borger died on Friday, September 27, in Amarillo. Services will be at 11:00 a.m. , Wednesday, October 2, at the First Baptist Church of Borger. Her brothers, Larry Washburn, Terry Washburn, and Doug Washburn will officiate. Arrangements are under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors.

Cheryl was born on August 5, 1957, in Borger, to C.E. Chuck and Bess Washburn. She was the Coowner of Dakes Catering in Borger. She was the past president of the Borger Music Club, and was a member of the Boomtown Theater. Cheryl was involved with many of the children in the Borger community as well as with her church, First Baptist Church. She was a softball coach, taught swimming lessons, church nursery worker, Sunday School teacher and Children Choir director, as well as being involved with Vacation Bible School.

Cheryl is preceded in death by her son Damon Dacus and her parents.

She is survived by her husband, David daughters, Angela Wakefield and husband Sam of Dumas, and Emily Rios and husband Jose of El Paso brother Larry Washburn and wife Sandra of Baytown, TX Terry Washburn and wife Ruthie, of Cedar Park, TX, and Dough Washburn and wife, Janie of Palestine, TX grandchildren, Aralyn Wakefield, Sterling Dacus, and Eloria Wakefield.
