Chester Christian

Chester "Skidrow" Christian, 75, of Borger passed away Tuesday, February 13th in Amarillo. Funeral Services will be 10:00 am Tuesday, February 20th at Minton Memorial Chapel. Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger. Family will receive friends Monday at the funeral home from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

Chester was born January 30, 1943 in Cameron, TX to Frank J. and Josphine (Knox) Christian. He accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized in Loraine, TX. He started school at the age of six at Longfellow school until it closed and then went to D. W. Wallace until he moved to Odessa, TX in 1960. He went to Blackshear High School, graduating in 1962. He was drafted into the US Army in 1967 where he served his country with honor and dignity and was dismissed with an honorable discharge. He married Shirley Ward Proctor July 8, 1986 in Stinnett, TX.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Wife Shirley, son Bobby Laurence Christian, sisters Vernice and Wanda Faye Christian and Bennie Starling.

Those left to cherish his memories his son Tony James of Odessa and stepson Kenneth Ward of Odessa. Daughters Alfenia Moreno and husband Joe of Denver, CO; Latasha Walker of Atlanta, GA; Samantha Draugn of Denver, Co. Step Daughter Dorothy Proctor of Borger. Brothers Fred and Emma Christian of Riverdale, CA; Charles Christian of Mesquite, TX; Alvin and Ginger Christian of Odessa; Ivory and Ora Christian of Odessa; Curtis and Rochell Christian of Aurora, CO; Laurence Christian of Odessa; Kenneth and Helen Christian of San Marcos, TX. Sisters Lucille Christian of Rancho Cucamonda, CA; Barbara Armstrong of Fort Worth, TX;Willie Mae Haynes of Odessa and Frankie Davis of Odessa. 12 grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
