Clara Rook

Clara Maxine Rook, 92 of Borger died Friday November 2nd in Borger. No services will be set. Cremation was under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.

Maxine was born at Jack County, Colorado to Lie McCloud Martin and Clara Helton Martin on March 27, 1920. She married Otho Jennings Rook September 6,1936 at Spearman, Texas. She was a checker at Furrs Grocery Store for ten years. She was a member of the American Legion. She sewed her husband shirts and was a very good seamtress. She also liked to cook pies and angel food cakes from scratch. She had lived on ranches cooking for the cowhands. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a son Jerald Rook.

Maxine is survived by daughters Helen Berry of Tolar, TX., Ilene Warren and husband Bill of Slaton, TX. and Donna OBrien of Fritch, TX. Nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
