Clara Turner

Clara C Turner, 72, died Saturday, November 6, 2010 in Amarillo.

Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Highland Park Cemetery with Rev. Jeff Ponder, Pastor First Baptist Church of Bushland officiating. Interment is under the direction of MintonChatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.

Clara was born on July 15, 1938 in Lone Wolf, Oklahoma and was raised in Borger where she owned her first Beauty Shop. She then moved to Alaska where she spent 32 years and had three Beauty Shops that she was the owner operator of. Clara would volunteer her time to go to the nursing homes in Borger and in Alaska to fix up the residents hair. Clara would spend all her free time outside. She loved the outdoors she also enjoyed any plant or flower that would grow. Claras husband Don said he couldnt keep her out of the flowerbeds. Clara was preceded in death by her parents Harold Brooks and Nadine Owens.

Clara is survived by her husband Don Turner of Bushland, stepfather Ray Owens of Borger, three sons Tommy Sherwood and wife Diana Michael Sherwood and wife Andi both of Oklahoma and Danny Sherwood and wife Vicki of Idaho brother Wayne Brooks of Montana and four sisters Deloris D Harrall of Oklahoma, Helen Versher and husband Wayne, Linda Isbell and husband Freddie and Michelle Huron and husband Danny all of Texas. Clara had seventeen grandchildren, nineteen greatgrandchildren , seven greatgreat grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
