Clarke L. "Scooter" Darden, 80, died May 22, 2017 in Houston. Celebration of his Life will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 30 at the Borger Municipal Golf Course (Phillips CC) burial will be at Highland Park Cemetery under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.
Scooter was born May 13, 1937 in Borger; his parents were Cecil and Mona Woodward Darden. They preceded him in death. He proudly served his country in the U. S. Army as a Radio Operator in Turkey and retired as a Chemist for Haliburton. Scooter lived for 30 years in Borger, 20 years in California, 10 years in Amarillo and the past 8 years in Houston. He graduated Borger High School in 1955 and attended Cameron College on a boxing scholarship and also West Texas State University. He was a Golden Gloves Champion and loved to play golf and bowling.
He is survived by his two sons Scott Darden of Houston and Daren Darden of Seattle, WA, his two daughters Jalanda Kathryn Darden of Chino Hills, CA and Cinda Schmidt and her husband Jason of Seattle, WA, his brother Doug Darden and his wife Pam of Borger, the mother of Daren and Cinda, Lay Reel of Midland and 7 Grandchildren.
