Clyde Barker, Sr.

Clyde Eldon Barker Sr, 90 of Stinnett passed away on Thursday, June 2, 2022, at home surrounded by his family. Graveside services will be 2:00 pm Tuesday, June 7, 2022, at Stinnett Cemetery under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger. There will be a family and friends’ visitation on Saturday, June 4, 2022, from 5-7 at the funeral home.

Clyde was born January 26, 1932, in Clarendon, TX to Elwin Odell and Wonnie Lee (Tice) Barker. He grew up at Lelia Lake, TX. He served in the US Army for 3 years from 1950-1953 as a Sargent. He married Julia Fay Hill on October 4, 1953, in Clovis, NM. Clyde and Julia were a truck driving team. He loved taking care of his family, cars, and motorcycles. Clyde and his brother Tilmon could always be found fishing together at Bugbee.

Surviving is his loving wife, Julia. Sons, Eldon and wife Brenda Barker of Stinnett; Clyde Barker Jr 0f Stinnett. Daughter, Sonia Carrick and partner Vance Orr of Stinnett. Sisters, Sue Dale Stone of Pflugerville, TX; Roberta Sewell of Skellytown, and Melinda Messier of Chico, TX. Grandchildren Tessa Miller, Brandy Paul, Dana Carrick, Angela Manuel, Andrew Carrick, Genie Lindow, and Sheena Harris and 15 great grandchildren.
