Concepcion Garcia

Borger - Concepcion Connie Robles Garcia, 82, died Saturday in Amarillo. Rosary Services will be at 6:30 p.m. on Monday at Minton Memorial Chapel. Funeral Mass will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at St. John's Catholic Church with Father Guillermo Morales officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Park Cemetery in Borger under the direction of Minton-Chatwell Funeral Directors. Connie came to Borger in 1944 from Garden City, Kansas and along with her husband Pete raised five children. She was very active in the community, serving the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 412 from 1945 until the present in all offices including President. She was a member of St. John's Altar Society from 1945 until the present and a member of the Rebekah Lodge in the 1970s, a member of the Borger Independent School District PTA and the St. John's Choir. Connie was a direct descendant of Aztec Indians from Zacatecas, Mexico. Connie was married to Octaviano P. Pete Garcia, Sr on January 3, 1944 in Garden City, Kansas. Pete preceded her in death in 1992. She is survived by her two sons; Daniel G. Garcia and his wife Kathy of Wichita Falls, TX and Junior Garcia of Denton, TX, her three daughters; Olivia Martinez Abshire and her husband Larry of Floresville, TX, Sophia Garcia-Robles of Santa Cruz, CA and Yvonne Payne and her husband Ron of Borger. One sister; Susan Mujica of Garden City, KS, Seven Grandchildren; Ralph Martinez, Adam Martinez, Duncan Garcia, Danielle Garcia, Katy Garcia, Lauren Monden and Ronay Bach and 5 Great-Grandchildren; Kole Bryan, Kenny Monden, Haylee Monden, Infinity Martinez and Miguel Martinez. Casket Bearers will be Lupe Garcia, Guy Garcia, Steve Garcia, Chris Garcia, Jamie Garcia and Tim Garcia. The family will be at 302 McCarthy in Borger.
