Conley Rhoten

Conley Gilbert Rhoten, 84, of Amarillo formerly of Fritch died Wednesday August 31, 2011 in Amarillo. Funeral services will be Saturday September 3rd at Minton Memorial Chapel with Rev. Don Rice officiating. Burial will be in the Garden of Devotion at Highland Park Cemetery under the direction of MintonChatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.

Conley was born January 3, 1927 at Strong City, Oklahoma to Conley and Mary Rhoten. He graduated from Strong City High School and then went into US Navy serving in WWII in the South Pacific. He married Honwea Sprowls Nov. 1947 at Cheyenne, OK. They moved to the Borger, Phillips and Fritch area in 1947 where he worked for Phillips Petroleum for 37 years. She preceded him in death in 1992. He married June Greer in Fritch in 1994. He was a member of Isom Lodge1242 Ancient Free and Accepted Masons, Fritch First United Methodist Church and Local 351 Union. He was also preceded in death by his parents, and a brother Rex T. Rhoten.

He is survived by his wife June of the home. Sons Mark and Rebecca Rhoten of Borger, Roy and wife Christi Rhoten of Carrolton, Tx., David and wife Cindy Rhoten of Canyon, Tx. Six grand daughters, one grandson and one great grand daughter.
