Cordell Nixon, Sr.

Cordell Carroll Nixon, Sr., 76, passed away Sunday, October 4, 2015.

Graveside service will be held 3 pm Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at Highland Park Cemetery under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.
Cordell was born April 29, 1939 in Borger to Alta Mae (Hodges) and Sidney Nixon. He enjoyed restoring antique vehicles and looked forward to drinking coffee on the front porch in the mornings. Cordell loved his dogs, but nothing brought more joy to his life than his grandkids.

He is preceded in death by parents; wife, Maleta Jean Nixon; son, Johnny Nixon; and sister, Rosie Jones.

Survivors include his sons, Everett Nixon and wife Kristi of Borger, Winston Allen and wife Christie of Panhandle, Cordell Nixon, Jr. and wife Jessie of Borger; daughter, Shelly Vanderburg of Quitman, Texas; sister, Geneva Terry of Amarillo; ten grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren and one due to arrive in April; four dogs, Buster, Tater, Sugar, Mija; three grand dogs; and three great grand dogs.
