Mrs. Corley Stearns, 95, died Sunday, March 2, 2008 in Elk City, OK.BRBRServices will be at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday at the First Baptist Church Chapel with Rev. Robert Hensley, pastor of Bunavista Baptist Church officiating. Interment will be in The Garden of Beatitudes at Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Minton-Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger. BRBRMrs. Stearns was born in Memphis, TX on September 1, 1912. Corley was a longtime resident of Borger before moving to Elk City to be with her daughter.BRShe taught swimming for 40 years and sang with the Barber Shop Belles. She married Paul K. Stearns on December 20, 1929 in Whittier, CA. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, sang in the Church Choir and enjoyed swimming and golf. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul, granddaughter, Amy McWilliams, one brother and four sisters.BRBR .She is survived by her son Richard Stearns of Palo Alto, CA, her daughter Carolyn Morris of Elk City, OK and three grandchildren, Sherry McWilliams of Amarillo, Chuck Sandifer of Frisco, Tx., Rick Sandifer of Dallas, four great-grandchildren - Jeremy McWilliams of Amarillo, Brad Sandifer of Yukon, OK, Josh Sandifer of Dallas, Tessa Miller of Frisco, Tx; two great-great grandchildren - Tristan Miller of Frisco, Tx., Addison Sandifer of Yukon, OK.BRBRMemorials may made to Down Home Ranch, 20250 FM 619, Elgin, TX 78621 or to Pregnancy Care Center, Box 2122, Elk City, Ok 73648.BR
