Fritch

Darrel Buddy Harris, 78, of Fritch, died Monday November 19, 2012 in Amarillo.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at the Gray Community Church located at the Museum of the Plains in Perryton with David Miller of Borger and Charlie Barnes of Seiling, Oklahoma officiating. Interment will follow at Gray Cemetery in Beaver, County, Oklahoma under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.

Buddy was born June 12, 1934 in Beaver, Oklahoma to DeWitt and Mildred Slaton Harris. He married Alberta Pearson May 31, 1953 in Balko, Oklahoma, and had lived in Fritch for 56 years. Buddy retired from the Phillips Copoly plant as a instrument tech after 29 years of employment. He also worked in Houston, Wyoming, and offshore in Kenai, Alaska. Buddy loved his grandkids, greatgrandkids, fixing things, and playing cards. He was also an avid hunter, and fisherman.

Survivors include his wife Alberta, his son Victor Harris and wife Bobbi of Fritch, his daughter Teresa Hefley and husband Kevin also of Fritch four grandchildren Heather Harris, Brandon Harris and wife Amanda, Andy Hefley and wife Lishelle, Ariel Hickey and husband Justin seven greatgrandchildren Ethan Milner, Anna and Emma Harris, Bryson and Molly Hefley, and Holden and Tarley Hickey.

Buddy is preceded in death by his parents, and his sister Lynda Wood.
